Hailing from the central
Italian region of Abruzzo, Maurizio Di Ciano trained exclusively
in Italy at Villa Santa Maria and gained his experience working
in Italy, Switzerland and London. Upon his arrival in Australia
in 1997, he spent three years as Maitre'D at a prominent fine
dining restaurant in West Perth which earned him the Alinta
Gas Maitre'D of the Year award.
In 1999, he commenced his
own catering business followed by the Maurizio Restaurant in
2002. The fine dining restaurant moved to elegantly refurbished
premises with street frontage onto Fitzgerald Street in Perth
in 2005.
Maurizio was recognized
by his peers in 2002 when he received an Honour Award from the
Restaurant and Catering Industry Association of W.A. for his
distinguised service & professionalism to the restaurant and
catering industry within W.A. and as a token of the esteem in
which the industry holds him.
